Kinoslide vs Colossyan for course creators
October 23, 2026 · 4 min read
Colossyan and Kinoslide both start from a document and give you a narrated video. The videos look different. Colossyan's are led by an AI avatar presenting the material. Kinoslide's have no presenter. The lesson is drawn on a board or animated on slides as the narration explains it.
This page compares the two for course creators and course providers. Facts about Colossyan come from its own website as of October 2026.

What the video looks like
Colossyan videos center on an avatar. You pick from more than 300 stock avatars or make your own, and the avatar presents each scene. Colossyan also adds quizzes, buttons, and branching, so a video can work like an interactive module.
Kinoslide videos center on the content. In Dry Erase, diagrams, handwriting, and math are drawn in marker as the narration reaches them, and then they move. In Presentation, the content becomes animated slides that can also be exported as a deck. This suits material that needs to be shown being worked out, like a calculation, a mechanism, or a process.
Starting from a document
Colossyan's document import is broad. It reads Word files, text and scanned PDFs, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Notion and Confluence exports, and plain text. Headings become scene titles and paragraphs become narration. For PowerPoint, slides become scenes and speaker notes become narration.
Kinoslide reads PDFs. You pick the page range for one lesson, so one chapter becomes one focused video. Kinoslide writes new narration from those pages, so the source does not need to be written as a script. For PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides, export the deck as a PDF first.
For a full course, Kinoslide projects keep the voice, format, language, and style rules the same across every lesson.
Pricing
Colossyan has a free Starter plan with 20 minutes a month of its standard avatar model and a watermark. Professional is $59 a month on annual billing, with 30 minutes a month of the standard model and 10 minutes of its newer model, watermark removal, and 5 SCORM exports a month. Extra team members are $30 a month each. Enterprise pricing is custom.
Kinoslide prices by minutes. One credit is one minute of requested video. Basic is $30 a month for 50 credits, Pro is $100 for 100, and Scale is $600 for 500, with a 5-seat team workspace. Annual billing is 20% less, so Basic is $24 a month and Pro is $80. The free plan includes 5 credits, with videos up to 2 minutes.
Languages
Colossyan lists more than 100 languages and 700 voices. Kinoslide supports 11: English, French for France and Canada, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Turkish, Indonesian, Russian, Hindi, and Arabic. Every Kinoslide plan includes all 11.
LMS and export
Colossyan exports MP4 and SCORM, and can send quiz scores to an LMS through SCORM. It names Workday, Cornerstone, Docebo, Litmos, and Absorb. Kinoslide exports MP4 files, which upload to any LMS or course platform, including Teachable, Thinkific, and Kajabi.
Which one to choose
Choose Colossyan if you want an avatar presenter, quizzes inside the video, SCORM tracking, or direct import of Word and PowerPoint files.
Choose Kinoslide if your course is built on a textbook or manual and the lesson needs to be explained visually, with the diagram or the math drawn as it is described. It also costs less per minute of video. Learnedly, a Canadian continuing education provider, makes its English and French course videos this way. You can read how Learnedly makes its course videos.
The first Kinoslide video is free. Upload one chapter of a course you already teach and compare the result.
